Through the Bible: Jeremiah

DAY 8 OF 19

Knowing God’s Heart

My eyes will watch over them for their good, and I will bring them back to this land. I will build them up and not tear them down; I will plant them and not uproot them.
Jeremiah 24:6 (ESV)

The promise God gives Jeremiah is to the exiles living in a foreign land. Many are the challenges of living in a foreign country while missing the privileges we have in our home country.

When the global pandemic hit the city where we are working, our family and friends asked us to move back to our home country as we can work remotely. As we sought God, we had the peace that God would keep us safe where He sent us, in the country God had placed us during this season of our life.

As the pandemic hit the world, we are thankful for staying where God sent us. We felt safe this season, with God's presence, protection, and providence. We saw God in our lives even as we faced the unknown.

Today may you choose to stay in the center of God's will, even if it's in your uncomfortable zone.

Prayer

Lord help us to see You beyond our circumstances, enjoying Your presence, protection, and providence in our lives, in Jesus’ name, Amen.

About this Plan

Through the Bible: Jeremiah

Jeremiah, the author of this book, was born in approximately 650 BC. He was called by God to prophesy to the southern kingdom of Judah of the imminent judgement due to their disobedience to God. Often mocked and beaten for his prophecies, Jeremiah remained faithful to his calling. Though Judah was given forty years to repent, the people continued in sin and were eventually exiled to Babylon in 586 BC.
