How to Live an Epic LifeSample
Winston Churchill was once asked what one thing most prepared him to lead Great Britain through World War II. His response was, “The time I repeated a class in grade school.”
The questioner asked, “You mean to tell me you flunked a grade?”
Churchill replied, “Well, no, I never flunked a grade in my life. I was merely given a second opportunity to get it right.”
We do not have to reframe things. If God is for you, who can lay anything to your charge? Nobody! It allows you to relax. You are forgiven; now you can serve the Lord with gladness and joy. Certain things can never be taken from you. Satan is called our accuser in Revelation 12:10. He is accusing you; he wants to make you look bad. Before God, he describes the things you do wrong, but God’s response is: “He is my son, he is forgiven.”
Not only does Satan accuse, but he tries to condemn. He cannot because Christ died and rose again. What happens when Satan tries to accuse you before God, by pointing out every fault you have? Jesus is there at the right hand of God interceding for you. He is acting as your advocate or attorney. If you get into trouble with the law, you want the absolute best attorney. Usually, the absolute best attorneys are also the most expensive attorneys. However, Jesus is the best attorney, and He is free because He is there for you as your advocate.
I am not saying we should just go out and sin. The more you understand God’s love, the less likely you will be to go out and sin. You will be so in love with Him and walking with Him and with learning what He said in the Bible that you will not have time for sin. Understanding God’s love and forgiveness is everything.
Who can separate you from the love of Christ? To understand how to be epic in life, we must understand God’s love, and that His love and the security we have in Christ make us more than conquerors. The original meaning of the word “conqueror” is “beyond victorious.” You are beyond victorious because you are in Christ, and He has forgiven you.
