Seven Effective Prayers for Unsaved HusbandsSample

“As for us, we have all of these great witnesses who encircle us like clouds. So we must let go of every wound that has pierced us and the sin we so easily fall into. Then we will be able to run life’s marathon race with passion and determination, for the path has been already marked out before us” (Hebrews 12:1 TPT)

We all sin and fall short of the glory of God.  If we are here on earth, sin is inevitable.  Sin is the result of the fall of Adam and since then it is has been an issue in humanity.  Some, however, have sins or struggles that are considered strongholds.  These are defensive structures that are working against the agenda of God in the life of God's people.  Many people deal with strongholds in their minds.  These are lies and half-truths that Satan speaks to you in trying to persuade you to believe him over God.  Christians have the power to pull down strongholds and everything that is keeping them captive which prevents them from receiving the promises of God.

Extra weight makes it hard to move.  Extra weight makes it difficult to be flexible or bendable.  It stunts growth and prevents vitality. Are there strongholds and weights in your husband’s life that are preventing him from serving God with all his heart, soul, and mind?  Is he tied down with a weight that is trying to take his life, literally?  Perhaps, he is in wrong relationships with things, people, or decisions and he needs to let them go. Perhaps, the portals of his soul man were exposed to things that infiltrated his spirit man and now he is struggling with addiction; the spirit of manipulation, lies, or deceit.  He wants to be free but not sure how and feels stuck.  If this is the case, pray for his release.  As his wife, you have the power and authority to pray on behalf of your husband’s freedom. You are one in God’s sight, and he honors the prayers of the righteous and is attentive to their prayers.  By now, you know the importance of understanding the root causes and this is going to be helpful as you navigate through your marriage as a praying wife.  

Prayer for your husband to let go of the dead weight:

Father in the name of Jesus, I come praying on behalf of my husband.  He is wrestling internally with things that are beyond his control.  I know his spirit wants to be free, but right now he is being held captive to the strongholds in his mind.  Father, I pray for his release today, that every weight and sin that so easily beset him be removed.  I know that his life and our marriage are under attack, and I refuse to give up without a fight. Satan will not win because this is a fixed fight.  My husband may not be in position yet, but I am equipped with the armor of God. Right now, I arm myself with every piece of the armor as I intercede on behalf of my husband, your son.  There is no good thing that dwells in our flesh and our flesh cannot glorify you.  I command the angels to move on my husband's behalf in clearing the pathway for him to return to his first love, you, so that he may experience freedom in you. He will no longer be a slave to sin or the effects of it because he is a child of the highest God.  He is FREE in Jesus' name, Amen.
