CounterfeitSample

Written by Anna, age 18 from Shawnee, KS
Your faith can grow simply by serving those around you. According to these verses, Jesus seemed to think serving was a really big deal. Jesus is a perfect example of someone who served others. He gave His life so we could have a full life through Him. Jesus also modeled service. Even though He was God, He spent His life serving others. Not only does serving help others, but serving helps us experience our purpose, what we are made for, as we discover how we can make a unique difference in this world. Serving will also grow our relationship with God. You have been given unique talents and skills by God, and you are incredibly valuable to God and the church.
Today, set aside some time to think about how you can serve others in your family, church, and community. Then, put action to your words and serve them, just as Jesus encouraged us to do!

About this Plan

We know that anything of value probably has a counterfeit version out there. The same is true for our faith. Maybe copying the behaviors of other believers was a great place to start your faith journey, but how can we move beyond copying Christians to following Jesus? How do we make our faith our own? The difference between a counterfeit faith and an authentic faith is growth and heart change.
