Fear/less Pt. 2: The Cross Transforms the StormSample

One of the greatest miracles in the Old Testament was the parting of the Red Sea. The Israelites cried out when they faced the Red Sea with Pharaoh’s army soon approaching. God did what no one would have expected. He pushed back the waters to create safe passage for the Israelites, and then re-flooded the dried ground to swallow up the army that was pursuing them from behind. This great miracle was recounted and remembered by the generations to follow to remind them of God’s might and power. 

God can use what appears to be a threat before us to become the solution. What was meant for destruction can be transformed into a source of life. Snakes were poisoning and killing the Israelites, but God instructed Moses to make a bronze snake and put it on a pole to save those who were bitten. Jesus also took the cross, the most reviled force of execution, and His death and resurrection now offers life to all who believe in Him.  

What was a storm can become a source of help for others. Our journey through the storms of life are testimonies of God’s saving power and grace. When shared with others, these testimonies bring encouragement and hope of God's transformative power. What God does for one person, He does for all of us through the cross. The cross has the power to transform a storm into a source of life for others.
