Walk Through The Bible 365 - JuneSample
Peace In Spite Of Differences
In the early church, there were both Jews and 'gentiles' who put their faith in Christ. And, in spite of the significant differences in backgrounds, religious practices and values, they worshiped together in unity and harmony. This is because Jesus brought peace and unity into their lives. Today, as we worship together from different ethnic and social backgrounds, let us remember that Jesus calls us to be one as he is our peace. Let us not use ethnic and social differences to prevent us from loving and relating to those of other backgrounds in the church. We are called to be one.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank you that you have broken down every dividing wall of prejudice and hostility. Let us not use our differences in social or ethnic backgrounds to stop relating to others or to reject others with backgrounds different from ours. Thank you that you are our peace and you have made us one by breaking down all prejudices and hostility through your completed work on the cross. Help us to live in peace and build friendly relationships with all irrespective of their backgrounds. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
