DAY 27 OF 30

YOUR PERSPECTIVE ALIGNED

Perspective. The dictionary defines this word as “a particular attitude toward something or a way of regarding something; a point of view.” As we experience life, with all of its highs and lows, our perspective can shift and waver. And all of our memories, feelings, and emotions we have can color the way we see life. But, it is crucial to align our perspective with the truth and word of God.

Our perspective influences how we interpret people’s actions and determines how we treat them. Maybe you find yourself growing restless, losing hope, and trying to handle things without seeking God. Maybe your thoughts have become negative, and your outlook on your situation isn’t faith-filled but rather pessimistic. Maybe you have gotten busy with the day-to-day, and the pressures of life are starting to weigh you down. This can happen if we don’t evaluate our perspective. Take a moment to reflect on these questions:

How am I viewing life?

How am I approaching my situation? Is God a part of any of it?

Am I just getting through the day?

When we take the time to evaluate our perspective, we can correct those mindsets and behaviors that are causing us more stress. Sometimes, we are the cause of our burdens. We put more on ourselves than we are meant to carry. How do we shift our perspective? By knowing who God is. Think about the song “Yes, I Will” by Vertical Worship featuring Heather Headley.

The same God that never fails

Will not fail me now

You won’t fail me now

In the waiting

The same God who is never late

He is working all things out

These simple lyrics are powerful. Our God is one who is never late and never fails. In every trial, in every circumstance, in every victory, our faith is in Jesus. He is our anchor and our foundation. He is always working on your behalf. Shifting your perspective means accepting that God is in control. It isn’t our job to try to make something happen. When we realign our perspective with God, we remind ourselves of His promises and His faithfulness. In turn, it allows us to release what we shouldn’t be holding. It frees our minds and our efforts from tirelessly thinking and working. It resets our approach. Evaluate your perspective often. Be willing to adjust when needed and keep Jesus as your focus.

PRAYER

Jesus,

I praise You because You never fail and Your promises are good. No matter what comes my way, I pray that I continue to align my perspective with Yours. Help me to stay faith-filled and to keep You at the center of it all. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
