Fervent: Fight Fear With Faith Sample
What are the words you’ve been speaking or thinking these last few days? When we become intentional about what we say or think, it might surprise us to know how many of them are actually complaints. I find myself complaining all the time, not against God (or so I think), but rather circumstances or people. But the Lord is reminding us today that He hears those words and those thoughts. We need to remember that our complaints or grumbling are never against a situation or people. Essentially, they reflect dissatisfaction with God’s sovereignty. Our complaints are ultimately against Him. Yet, God is a merciful, loving Father. He longs for us to trust Him because He is absolutely trustworthy. Today, let us leave our complaining and rather choose to give praise. Our words matter to the Lord.
Pray:
• Seeking forgiveness for all the complaining we’ve indulged in thus far.
• Against our tendency to complain and grumble and ask for the gift of trust.
• For a spirit of joy and praise that chooses to bless the Lord in every situation.
