Fervent: Fight Fear With Faith Sample
Even as the days begin to blur for us, there is a tendency to become apathetic – to not really care about anything in particular. It can be difficult to motivate ourselves every morning to even read the Bible and pray. We can also believe the lie that since we seem to be stuck in limbo, nothing we do really matters. Yet, nothing is further from the truth! Let us fight this spirit of complacency and apathy. Let us not believe the lies of the enemy. Remember the truth – God works everything out for good. And let us not grow weary of being diligent in the small things – daily devotions with our family, prayer times with God, time spent actually reading the Bible not just scrolling past a motivational verse for the day! God is sovereign over these seemingly endless days. And He will redeem this time. So let us be faithful. Let us not live our lives based on how we “feel” but rather on the unshakeable truth of God’s word. Shaking off this lethargy, let us run with endurance the race set before us.
Pray for:
• The spirit of disinterest, apathy, and spiritual laziness to be bound in Jesus’ name.
• The gift of patience and longsuffering to be developed in us during this period.
• The joy of the Lord to strengthen the Church.
