Fervent: Fight Fear With Faith Sample
The Lord has a great purpose during this time to use the elderly to declare the Lord’s strength to generations after them, and the Lord desires for children to grow in the knowledge of the glory of Him. Just like this psalmist was taught from his youth, the children need to hear of His glory. Just like he declares the Lord’s strength, this is the time for us to declare it as well. The Lord has a great purpose for children and the elderly, so let us pray for them, and praise the Lord for them as well. God’s Word can bring us great comfort.
Pray for:
• The Lord to protect and sustain the vulnerable, the elderly, and children. Take some time and pray specifically by name over the children in your life (whether your children, your nieces and nephews, or neighborhood kids, and the kids you see in your normal life activities) and those elderly in your family, your neighbors, those white-haired aunties who have been praying for you fervently. Pray for those who do not have adequate provisions.
• Those “aunties” and “uncles” who do not have someone looking out for them.
• The children and elderly who are sick with COVID-19. Pray for healing, comfort, rest in the midst of their fever, aches, pain, and any ailments that come from the virus and other conditions. Pray that they and their families would have peace that passes all understanding and that if they do not, that they would seek it out; that they would seek and call upon the Lord.
