Divorce To Healing: 31 Days Of Healing And Wholeness

DAY 20 OF 31

"Boundaries"

Remember when you were growing up and your parents had a list of demands (do nots) a mile long that just killed all the fun? What did they know? Where they just trying to be difficult?

What makes you feel safe and secure? Armed bodyguards help, but not at 35,000 feet in a nosedive. Physically speaking you can do lots of things to lower your risk, but these only protect the body. You can also do that to protect your soul as well.
Our soul (mind, will, and emotions) is as safe as a newborn baby, unless we fortify it with safeguards and protections that allow us to live safe and keep out that which wants to harm us.

By providing a healthy protective wall away from things that will only continue to hurt us, Godly boundaries protect us and give us a place to live where true healing can take place. A body cannot heal while still on the battlefield.

Search out those actions that hurt you and reject those things that God wants you to stay away from so that He can protect you. Sowing seeds of wrong living will only cause you to reap more pain and struggle. It may even kill you.

The amount of land (your heart) you give God control over is the amount He can protect. Let Him have it all. He won’t heal the land (your heart) which you refuse to surrender. It is like letting a heart surgeon only given permission to operate on the left half of your heart.

See how safe boundaries and actions can change your life like nothing else.

Prayer
God, show me those safe and secure boundaries for my life that will allow me to heal completely and walk in the freedom of wholeness, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
