Working From Rest: A Prayer JourneySample
Restlessness
Jesus, I confess that I compare myself to others instead of looking to you for guidance. Please forgive me.
The ultimate accusation in this system of ‘never enough’ is that of being lazy – of not having put in enough effort. Whether, for us, it is self-accusation fuelled by comparison or performance anxiety engendered by league tables, we fear being thought lazy. Hence, we choose not to rest.
For reflection: Notice your own ‘self-talk’ about rest. Do you have permission to stop and relax?

About this Plan
Sabbath rest is essential to our identity as God’s people: a gift to refresh us and equip us for good work. But many of us find it hard to do. This prayer journey will help you explore the reasons for restlessness, God’s gift of rest, and how your work – in your job, your home, or your street – can flow from that place of rest and connection with Him.
