Working From Rest: A Prayer JourneySample
Resting in His Embrace
Forgive me when I forget I’m your child, make poor choices, and wander a long way from home.
Emptiness can be a gift. It was only when He had run out of money and food that the son ‘came to himself’, as the New King James Version translates Luke 15:17. It is an interesting phrase – it implies remembering who he is (a son), recognising where he belongs, knowing he is a long way from home, and facing his sinful choices. This honest assessment leads to repentance.
For reflection: What has been emptied out in the last year, and how is this a gift?

About this Plan
Sabbath rest is essential to our identity as God’s people: a gift to refresh us and equip us for good work. But many of us find it hard to do. This prayer journey will help you explore the reasons for restlessness, God’s gift of rest, and how your work – in your job, your home, or your street – can flow from that place of rest and connection with Him.
