Working From Rest: A Prayer JourneySample
Stopping
Lord, forgive me when I allow my thoughts and feelings to be shaped by the media and not by your word.
A longer period of stopping allows us to embrace solitude. ‘Solitude frees us … The normal course of day-to-day human interactions locks us into patterns of feeling, thought, and action that is geared to a world set against God. In solitude, we find the psychic distance, the perspective from which we can see, in the light of eternity, the created things that trap, worry, and oppress us.’ Dallas Willard
For reflection: When you envisage a period of silence and solitude, what feelings are you aware of?

About this Plan
Sabbath rest is essential to our identity as God’s people: a gift to refresh us and equip us for good work. But many of us find it hard to do. This prayer journey will help you explore the reasons for restlessness, God’s gift of rest, and how your work – in your job, your home, or your street – can flow from that place of rest and connection with Him.
