DAY 2 OF 3

PURSUING THE LORD

For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God (Psalm 84:10)

King David was not only known as a hero and respected king, he was also known as a psalmist who was loved by the Israelites. In his songs, David often expressed his feelings and longings for the presence of God. David said that he could not do anything without the Spirit of God and that nothing he had compared to having God's Spirit.

How deep is our longing and love for the presence of God? Paul revealed in his writings that whatever was gain to him was considered a loss for the sake of Christ. Why? Because he knew that his knowledge and intelligence were nothing compared to his encounter and experience with the Lord.

Anything we possess can cause us pride. But we must be aware, because beauty and possessions are only temporary. But the Spirit of God is eternal.

Look for the things above. Prioritize and pursue them. Jesus told us to seek the Kingdom of God and its righteousness. A runner is going into the race for something temporary, but we are running after the glory of God for something eternal. If we prioritize God above everything else in our lives, the Lord will also do the same thing to us. He will make us into someone special, someone who is different. Our transformation will display His glory.

What does it mean to pursue the Lord? It’s the longing and direction of our hearts to become like Christ.
