Book of Philippians

DAY 1 OF 3

DON’T LOSE HEART

If you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is small (Proverbs 24:10)

The Apostle Paul is one of the people of faith who was extraordinarily used by God to guide the believers in Asia Minor and Europe. He often experienced many challenges and obstacles while preaching the good news and teaching the believers. Paul even wrote his letters while he was in prison.

For Paul, it was not his suffering that mattered the most. He also did not feel that he needed special attention. The most important thing for him was to preach Christ and to make sure that God’s would choose to live in righteousness. Suffering did not prevent Paul from preaching the gospel, because he believed that the power of God was working within him, giving strength amid his weaknesses.

As long as we are still living in this world, we are not going to be free from life's problems. No matter what problems we are facing right now, God understands us the best and He cares about us. That's why He sent His Son. Jesus could also see and feel what was experienced by humankind when He was still on the earth.

The same thing applied to Paul. He did not lose heart, even though he had to experience tough challenges in preaching the gospel.

Why do we become discouraged when we have problems? Why do we become hopeless? This happens when we only see the problems through our human eyes. As God's children, we need to see from His perspective.

We may feel inadequate as humans, but we need to remember that the Spirit of God is upon us. His Word is powerful, and we have a God who listens to the prayers of the righteous.

Therefore, don't lose heart. Instead, believe in His divine power.
