The 8 Blessed Steps to Start a New Life

DAY 4 OF 8

But God Still Loves Us and Sends His Son to Save Us

Although we got separated from God due to sin, His love towards us remains the same. He still loves us, and He is ready to do anything to save us. Although we rebelled against him and went our own way, his love reaches out to us. Therefore, He sent his only son Lord Jesus Christ into this world; the book of John chapter 3, verse 16 aptly described it, “For God so loved the world, that he sent his only Son, and whoever believes in him will not perish but have an ever-lasting life.”

Almighty God cannot forget his creation, this nature of God was recorded by Isaiah 49:15, “Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you!” That is God. Although we fall into sin and got separated from him, we don’t even bother about it. He does not forget about us. Although we did not ask him, he sent his only Son to save us. That is the level of God’s love. We did not ask for it nor we know the need to ask him. But he sees us as helpless sheep without a shepherd. The good shepherd was sent. The good shepherd laid down his life for his sheep (John 10:11). Praise the Lord!

No matter how far you are from God today, there is no one to whom God cannot reach. His love reaches to the worst of the worst sinners. The farther we are from him, his concerns and love towards that person increases manifold. He does not condemn us anymore because we already stand condemned on the day of judgement. Therefore, He sympathizes with us, and He is the God who searches and looks for the one lost sheep leaving 99 sheep behind in an open field. His love towards the lost, the sinners, is unquestionable. He does not want anyone to perish but everyone to come to repentance; therefore, He is patient with you although you still go your own way (2 Peter 3:9).

He still loves us unconditionally and wanted to redeem us although we rebelled against him, and we go our own way. He will never give up upon us. He still pursues us, and He does not want us to die in our sins. And so He sends his Son, Lord Jesus Christ. The greatest gift, therefore, is Christ himself. What you will do with Christ in your life will determine how much you understand God’s love.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I thank you for loving me unconditionally and still pursuing me although I am a great sinner, and I know I do not deserve your mercy, love, and grace. I realize that you still love me and you do not want me to die in my state of sin. You love me so much that you sent your only Son Lord Jesus Christ to the earth. I am willing to learn more about Lord Jesus and what he accomplished for me and the world. Please continue to teach me your precious word and the righteous way. In the name of Lord Jesus I pray. Amen.
