Good Grief I’m Healed: Hurt in the World, Healed by the Word

DAY 5 OF 5

Hurt in the World ~ Healed by the Word

The best place to get needed relief over grief is at the foot of the cross. Seek the face of Jesus and call upon Him to be your help. He meets all of our needs and His Spirit will speak to your spirit and be your guide. Ask the Lord to reveal to you anyone in whom you need to seek forgiveness or in whom you need to forgive.

Forgiveness is a key that opens up the door for deliverance and freedom in your heart. It is why Jesus said, as recorded in Matthew 5:23 NIV, “Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother or sister has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to them; then come and offer your gift.”

The Lord forgives us our sins as a free gift but as we have received forgiveness so freely, so freely we must also forgive, or as the Word says, there is no forgiveness of sins for ourselves. He takes this seriously and we are unable to walk in freedom unless we reconcile our differences, restore relationships, love each other and let go of grudges, bitterness or offense, moment-by-moment and day-by-day!

2 Corinthians 12:9 (ESV), “But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”

Paul shares of delighting in his troubles, persecutions and in difficulties and proclaims in verse 10, “For when I am weak, then I am strong.” He said this because in and of ourselves, we are too weak and unable to do the things that bring everlasting change in our hearts. We need the help and power of the Holy Spirit to act on our behalf but this only happens when we surrender ourselves to Him.

The path to freedom was never promised to be easy, but it was promised to be fruitful when we abide in Christ and walk in obedience to Him. His timing and order is best and what He allows us to go through is not to harm us but to cleanse us, purify our hearts and prepare us for what He knows lies ahead in our future.

Though trauma and grief deposited hurt and pain, the process and journey to healing has produced good in my life. Through the grief, the fruit of joy has emerged. Through the trauma, the fruit of peace has settled on me. Through the disappointments, the fruit of faithfulness has flourished. Through the trials, the fruit of love has been the harvest and kindness, gentleness and goodness has certainly followed me. What the enemy has meant to destroy me with has instead become my testimony. In the midst of trauma, I found priceless treasure!

Tired of trauma, grief, anxiety, panic or fear? It’s time to heal and live again!
