Journaling GratitudeSample
Devotional: YOUR FAMILY
Paul, while writing to the Ephesian church, says that ‘every family on earth derives its name’ from God, the Father.
Families are such exceptional units. Every family, according to this verse, gets its unique identity from God. No matter what our families look like — even if they’re flawed, imperfect, and far from what we might imagine it should be — they are a group of individuals we are connected to, so intimately and distinctively.
Today, let’s choose to be thankful for our families. Let’s mention each member of our family — close or distanced, near or far, likable or not — and thank God for their lives. Let’s acknowledge how we derive our familial identity from God.
Journaling Prompt: BOUQUET
Families are so much like bouquets with different-looking flowers coming together to form something beautiful.
Get your journal out and express your gratitude for your family by putting together a bouquet artistically — a unique looking one that represents your unique family.

About this Plan
While preparing for the holidays at the end of each year, it is easy to forget to practice gratitude intentionally. Grab your journal, color pencils, paints, art and craft supplies, or maybe even just a pen and a paper; and begin a meaningful 24-day journey this Advent of practicing gratitude through creative journaling. You can also ask a group of friends to join your gratitude journaling journey!
