Covered in My WombSample
The Inner-circle
Mark 2:4-5NKJV
And when they could not come near Him because of the crowd, they uncovered the roof where He was. So when they had broken through, they let down the bed on which the paralytic was lying. When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven you.”
It is often more difficult to pray when the body is weak. I remember having headaches that felt like sharp objects were crawling up my brain. It was a painful experience and all I wanted was to get well. My spouse was also weak, but he was able to take care of the family. During this season, we decided to reach out to a handful of individuals to pray for and with us. We reached out to individuals who were not too busy to “break the rooftop“, like the friends of the paralytic. We knew these people would be extremely aggressive about our healing. We did not want to be pitied.
It is important for us to have godly and faith-filled people in our lives. In moments of weakness and discouragement, pity-parties are not helpful. We need people who can listen, pray, and spiritually support us. I love that the Bible says Jesus saw the faith of the paralytic’s friends. Do not be afraid or ashamed to reach out for spiritual and emotional support. It does not make you weak. It is a humble thing to do, and it strengthens one’s faith.
Do you need prayer? Call that prayer line or reach out to someone to pray with you. Do you have people who can break the rooftop and do all it takes to keep you grounded in faith? Who is in your inner circle? Please reflect on these questions. In difficult times, you do not have to walk alone. I pray that you will connect with God-fearing people who can support you in moments of weakness. Amen.
