PREPARE - A Student Reading Plan Exploring Your CallSample
Reflection
Each character we’ve looked at this week had a unique way God called and prepared them for ministry. But all of them shared the fact they had to stay connected to God. None of them were called to do something out of their own strength.
Jesus’ words in John 15 are true for all Christians, but are especially true for those called to full-time ministry. You have to let the Good Shepherd lead you first if you hope to lead His people.
If God is calling you into full-time ministry, He will make it known to you. Your role in your calling is to stay connected to Jesus. What you should do and how you should do it will come from God when the time is right.
Production in ministry will come from being connected to Jesus. Your preparation for ministry will come from your connection to Jesus. Make that connection your top priority and everything else will fall into place.
- Clarity about where Jesus wants you to go will fall into place.
- Confidence in who God made you will fall into place.
- Character that reflects Jesus will fall into place.
Ministry preparation will fall into place when it starts and ends with Jesus.

Prayer
Jesus, thank You for calling me Your friend! Thank You for speaking to me during this reading plan. I want to follow You no matter what that looks like. Please guide me and grant me wisdom to do Your will every day. Help lift me up on my bad days and keep my heart open to Your words. Amen.

About this Plan
Every Christian is called to ministry in some way. But some Christians are called to full-time vocational ministry. This calling doesn’t make you better than anyone else, but it is a different calling. Let these stories guide you as you wrestle with your own call from God.
