There's Hope For Today

DAY 325 OF 366

Slowly, our sense of wonder is dying. If you listen, you can hear its death rattle as we find natural explanations for all that surrounds us. Science, apart from God, stands on the assumption that everything can be ultimately explained. Miracles are left to the movies.

The supernatural is filed under “fantasy.” Our culture strives to leave nothing in the realm of mystery, wonder, or faith. If archaeologists were to uncover the Ark of the Covenant, we would soon be treated to a Discovery Channel special explaining its power. No doubt, a psychologist or two would discount its biblical history to the power of superstition and fear. The end result of our theories is a world of marvel without mystery; amazement without reverent awe.

God is not absent from our scientific discovery. All that we uncover is but the fingerprint of the Almighty. DNA points to a Master Designer. And what will we find when we develop the ability to look beyond DNA?

What is the sum of our knowledge captured in libraries and organized into textbooks? It is but a single drop to the oceans when compared to the One whose very name means “full of wonder.” Don’t be deceived. We are living in a supernatural world.
