There's Hope For Today

DAY 288 OF 366

I’m scrambling again! I put off my shopping until the last minute. I can’t find a card that sends the right message. I’ve had to settle for a late reservation. My magical night is turning into a nightmare. Procrastination got me again – so I’m limping along, hoping to salvage and save face.

Procrastination always leads to a lousy destination. Tom is scrambling again! He has neglected his marriage for years. He says he loves her. She says she’s leaving. He’s playing catch up. He’s not catching up fast enough. Shelly is scrambling again! She chased the big career and lost touch with her son. Now she’s spending her profits on his rehab bills. Guilt is eating her alive. She would give her Lexus to turn the clock back ten years. Ted is scrambling again! He has played games with the things of God and quite suddenly his life fell apart. “Where do I even begin, Lord? I can’t save face with You. How can You ever make something good out of this mess?”

Truth is, we all waited a little too late to come to Jesus. We all would have been better off if we had sought Him earlier. The wonder of the cross is that Jesus’ grace is extended to procrastinators too.

Don’t wait another minute. Some things are too good to miss.
