There's Hope For TodaySample
If we were to heed all warnings, the American consumer would be a frightened breed.
Cholesterol is lurking in every tasty morsel. Diet Coke is killing brain cells. I’m limiting the use of my cell phone for fear of a tumor. I’m choking on fossil fuel byproducts, yet I’m afraid I’ll run out of gas for my SUV. The sun is going to kill me because of ozone depletion. If I stay inside, I have to worry about radon gas. When it rains, I worry about the acid content. The polar caps are melting. I’m eating apples to keep healthy, but the skin might harbor pesticides. Coffee is drying out my tissues while caffeine is jacking up my heart rate. Irradiated beef and chickens on steroids have turned me on to tuna, but tuna carries the risk of mercury contamination.
I fear my clothes might have originated in an Asian sweatshop. I’m worried about human cloning, nuclear terrorism, vast left-wing conspiracies, vast right-wing ignorance, gross taxation, and road rage. Yesterday, I read a newspaper article about killer stress. I don’t think the paper was using recycled newsprint. I’ve written enough today ... worried about radiation from the computer screen.
We waste our days when worries reign. Illegitimate concerns distract the soul.
