Jesus was an Refugee

While Jesus was young, he and his parents ran away to Egypt to escape the evil King Herod. That made Jesus a refugee, someone who had to leave their homeland because of danger.

• Christmas is a time when we think of Jesus, when we see our family but it can also be a time to consider others. There are people who, like Jesus, don't feel at home this Christmas?
• Think about who you can reach out to this Christmas. Is there anyone on your street, near where you live who you could show kindness to this Christmas? If you show love to them, it’s a little bit like showing love to Jesus all those years ago.
• Pray: God, you place the lonely in families. May I be someone who considers others, who finds ways of sharing what I have with others this Christmas and always. Amen.
