We have a choice to make every day: to act and love according to the expectations of a king or queen or to embrace the life a the joker or court jester. The Joker is tempting because he is well liked, charismatic, funny, and popular. Everyone loves the joker, but the joker has no place in the royal family, no regal legacy to leave for future generations. The joker feeds off of an addiction to acceptance and applause from the crowd. 

Galatians 5 gives a detailed account of behaviors of the joker in verses 19-21 and the end of  verse 21 declares that the joker or those that walk according to the flesh will not inherit the kingdom of God. Now if you fall into that category, you don't have to stay there. 

Repentance and grace offers an express lane to becoming part of the royal priesthood. That promise is given in 1 Galatians 5:22-25. This passage outlines the royal character, and habits as through the fruits of the spirit and it holds a promise for those who crucify our flesh. Remember, 1 Peter 2:10 decrees that this promise is to those of us who once were not a people, but Christ has reconciled us back into relationship with God and welcomes us to God’s royal family. Decide today to become a king or queen, and leave behind the life of a Joker.
