CHAT-A-BOX Pt 1. Connecting With GodSample
CONVERSATION STARTERS
Q1) What do you think prayer is?
Q2) What are some of the reasons why you think people pray?
What does the Bible say about prayer?
- Jesus taught us some important things to pray about.
Pray like this: Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy. May your Kingdom come soon. May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us today the food we need, and forgive us our sins, as we have forgiven those who sin against us. And don’t let us yield to temptation, but rescue us from the evil one. (Matthew 6:9-13)
- God doesn’t want us to worry, but instead to pray and receive his peace.
Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7)
- Prayer is powerful and makes a difference!
Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results. (James 5:16)
