Fear Busters (Week 1)Sample
Day Five - Jesus has authority!
Who can remember what we learnt yesterday? Remember how we read that Peter got afraid? When he took His eyes off Jesus he began to sink but, when Jesus reached out His hand and caught Peter the wind the waves became calm.
Jesus walks on Water (Beginners Bible pg.364-371 / Matthew 14:22-33). Maybe take time to re-read through this as a family.
Jesus had the authority to calm the wind and waves that surrounded Peter and they instantly became calm. When we accept Jesus into our lives, He shares that authority with us so that we have authority over the things that we are fearful of. This means that when we are afraid, we can pray and ask God for help and command the fear to go away! He has set us free from ALL fear!
ASK:
Are there any fears in your life that you need to start speaking and declaring the truth of Jesus over?
REMEMBER:
Our memory verse for this series, 2 Timothy 1:7, says that "For God has not given us a spirit of fear or timidity, but of power and of love and of a sound mind." This means that we don’t have to be afraid of anything! God is with you all the time, and He loves and cares for you so much!
FEARBUSTER PRAYER:
You are bigger than my fears, you wipe away my tears. I have a voice to pray, you teach me what to say. I am brave because of You! We tell our fear to quit, we've had enough of it!
