R.O.B. Fear

DAY 4 OF 10

I R.O.B. fear of its power when I live like fear isn’t a part of me.

It can be scary to do new things all by yourself. When you have to go to a new school, FEAR! When you have to go to kid’s church instead of sitting with your parents, FEAR! When your mom makes you pay for your own candy at the store … you guessed it! FEAR!

You start to believe that’s just who you are: a kid who’ll ALWAYS be afraid to do new things alone.

But the Bible verse 2 Timothy 1:7 says that’s not true. God didn’t give you a spirit of fear. When you trust and follow Jesus, God puts power, love, and self-control in you, instead.

But what if even after you trust and follow Jesus, you still have a BIG fear of doing new stuff by yourself? You have to R.O.B. fear of its power, over and over, until you know you can do new things, by yourself, every time, and there isn’t anything to be afraid of.

Talk it over: Talk about something you’ve been afraid of for a really long time, and remember that fear is NOT a part of you. Even if you’ve fought that fear before, take time right now to R—remember God’s truth from 2 Timothy 1:7, O—open your mouth and say it out loud, and B—battle it out by doing the good thing you’re afraid to do.

About this Plan

R.O.B. Fear

The bad kind of fear keeps you from doing the good things God has for you to do. It tries to rob God’s peace, joy, and hope from you. But you can be the robber, instead! Find out how you can R.O.B. fear of its power. For Parents: Your child will have a deeper understanding of each day’s reading and questions if you complete this plan with them.
