Lent: Remembering the Life of JesusSample

Lent: Remembering the Life of Jesus

DAY 46 OF 47

Holy Week: Holy Saturday

Bible Reading: Matthew 27:62-66

Further Study

  • Why did the leading priests and Pharisees go to see Pilate on the Sabbath?
  • What were they afraid of?
  • What did Pilate do to ease their fears?

Reflect

  • Worship: Write down one attribute of God and worship Him for who He is.
  • Prayer: Pray for your closest friends.
  • Remembrance: Think about this day all those years ago. If you were a follower, you were devastated—you started to doubt the last few years. If you hated him, you were scared that he was going to do what he said he would—come back to life. Ponder your thoughts.
  • Self-Examination: When things don’t turn out the way you expected, do you immediately go to doubting God or do you trust Him regardless?

A Kind Act

  • Thank someone for what they mean to you.

About this Plan

Lent: Remembering the Life of Jesus

The season of Lent is a period leading up to Easter Sunday. It’s a time of reflection on Christ’s life, from His birth to His death. There’s a daily reflection piece for each of the 47 days of this Plan. We encourage you to get a small journal to write your thoughts down. Begin this Plan on Ash Wednesday, and your final day will be on Easter Sunday.
