Lent: Remembering the Life of Jesus

DAY 40 OF 47

Holy Week: Palm Sunday

Bible Reading: Matthew 21:1-11; Mark 11:1-11; Luke 19:28-40; John 12:12-19

The week leading up to Easter Sunday is referred to as Holy Week. According to many Greek and Roman liturgical books, it is called the Great Week because of all the amazing, great works that God did. We’ll walk through each day of Jesus’ life leading up to the Resurrection.

Further Study

  • Why was it important that Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey?
  • What did the crowd do with their garments?
  • What was the city like when Jesus entered? Why do you think the people were like that?

Reflect

  • Worship: Write down one attribute of God and worship Him for who He is.
  • Prayer: Pray for the people you work or go to school with.
  • Remembrance: Think about what it would have been like to have seen Jesus come into Jerusalem on a donkey that day knowing He was fulfilling prophecy. Ponder this.
  • Self-Examination: Knowing how you are wired, do you think you would have believed that Jesus was the Messiah? Share your thoughts.

A Kind Act

  • Help someone who is struggling financially, relationally, spiritually, mentally, or emotionally.

About this Plan

Lent: Remembering the Life of Jesus

The season of Lent is a period leading up to Easter Sunday. It’s a time of reflection on Christ’s life, from His birth to His death. There’s a daily reflection piece for each of the 47 days of this Plan. We encourage you to get a small journal to write your thoughts down. Begin this Plan on Ash Wednesday, and your final day will be on Easter Sunday.
