Lent: Remembering the Life of Jesus

DAY 19 OF 47

Healing: Man with Leprosy

Bible Reading: Matthew 8:1-4; Mark 1:40-45; Luke 5:12-16

The same power that raised Jesus from the grave was used before He went to the cross. The power He possessed because of His oneness with God gave Him the ability to heal and make all things new. Over the next week, we’ll dive in and study some of the healings that Jesus performed.

Further Study

  • What two things did Jesus do to heal the man with leprosy?
  • What did Jesus tell the man he cured and why?
  • Luke 5:16 tells us that Jesus often withdrew from others to pray. Why do you think He needed to do this?

Reflect

  • Worship: Write down one attribute of God and worship Him for who He is.
  • Prayer: Pray for the people you work or go to school with.
  • Remembrance: Think of a time when God has healed you—financially, physically, emotionally, mentally, or spiritually. Write down your thoughts.
  • Self-Examination: How often do you retreat in order to spend time with Jesus? Ponder this and ask God if this amount should increase and how you can adjust your daily schedule.

A Kind Act

  • Donate a piece of furniture that you no longer need.

About this Plan

Lent: Remembering the Life of Jesus

The season of Lent is a period leading up to Easter Sunday. It’s a time of reflection on Christ’s life, from His birth to His death. There’s a daily reflection piece for each of the 47 days of this Plan. We encourage you to get a small journal to write your thoughts down. Begin this Plan on Ash Wednesday, and your final day will be on Easter Sunday.
