A Kid's Guide To MatthewSample
Share What Jesus Has Done For You
Alien Arms! This is your favorite youth group skit. One person sits on a chair with his arms behind his back, and a second person puts his arms underneath the first person’s arms to act out cooking, eating, or getting ready in the morning. It’s so spacey to see how a pair works together!
In Acts 25 and 26, Paul must have felt like an alien in the Roman court. He didn’t know exactly everything to say, or what he might be asked. He didn’t expect to be called crazy for all his learning (Acts 26:24). Just as in a game of Alien Arms, there was stuff coming out of Paul that he didn’t even know he had. Those who heard Paul speak were amazed, as was Paul—because he didn’t do the talking but the words were God’s. God will do the same for you. As Jesus promised in Matthew 10:16-20, God will give you the words to share what Jesus has done for you.
Why does sharing about Jesus sometimes make you feel like an alien? What is the biggest unknown thing about what Christ means to you?
Write a practice letter to someone who doesn’t know Jesus. This person might see Jesus as an alien, a little scary, surprising, full of mystery. What will you say about Christ?
