JEHOVAH JIREH

Singapore is the most comfortable nation to live in Asia Pacific [ECA International Report, 2016]. This fact becomes a magnet for people from all around the world to come, to work/have a business, and to live in Singapore. Singapore is also recorded as the country with the 3rd best education system in the world (Social Progress Imperative – United Nations, 2016). These factors make life in Singapore to be very competitive. Many people are depressed because they are so worried that they will not be successful in Singapore’s life competition. 

Thankfully, God does not leave us alone to face these struggles. The Bible even reveals that Jehovah Jireh (the Lord who provides) is one of God’s names. This name was mentioned for the first time when Abraham wanted to sacrifice his son, Isaac, to the Lord. Seeing that Abraham obeyed His command, the Lord commanded Abraham to replace Isaac with a ram that He had provided (Genesis 22:13). Here comes the name ‘Jehovah Jireh’ which means ‘the Lord provides’. 

May we have no worry when we need help, wisdom, strength, healing or whatever it is in this life. Matthew 6:25a says "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear.”

Our God, Jehovah Jireh, knows what we need and He will provide the best for us, His children, in His time.
