BE READY TO BE PROCESSED
Abraham was continually being processed before he received God’s promise. The same thing happens to all of us as the children of God. Before receiving the answers of our prayer, the Lord will process us until the time we are ready to receive the answers. The Lord is never too late nor too early. He will give it to us at His best time. Do you want to receive the answer of your prayer? If you answer yes to this question, it means you are ready to be processed.
Two times the same thing happened to Abraham in relation to his beautiful wife, Sarah. In Egypt and in Negev, both kings took notice of Sarah. Abraham was afraid: if Sarah was not given to the kings, Abraham would die. It was difficult for Abraham to believe that he would not be killed. Sometimes we think we will be defeated by our enemies if we do the right things or if we are honest. Because of this, we think of our own solution, just like what was done by Abraham. Abraham did not realize that these incidents happened to train him not to have the fear to face his enemies in the future.
Abraham was no longer afraid after King of Negev gave explanation about what the Lord had told him about Abraham. As the result, Abraham was confident about the power of God and he found the courage to ask for God’s mercy for King of Negev. The Lord listened to Abraham’s prayer, and a miracle happened to the king. Do not repay wickedness with wickedness. We should pray for them instead to get God’s mercy. God allows everything to happen to process our hearts and prepare us to receive the promise of God.
The process might be bitter but the Lord is in every step of our lives, even until the end when we are going to harvest His beautiful promises.
