Part Three - God always has a plan for me
God loves us and cares for us so much. He wants to have a relationship with us; he has a plan and a purpose for each of our lives that is far bigger than we could imagine.
Esther and her family were Israelites, they were God’s people. They loved God and worshipped Him. In the story of Esther, it says that the King asked her to become his Queen. Haman, a helper of the King, did not like the Israelites and he wanted them to bow down to him. Mordecai, Esther’s cousin, refused to do this as he only wanted to bow down and worship God. This filled Haman with anger, so he told the King that the Jews were bad people. He tricked the King in to signing a new law that would get rid of all the Jews! This put the people of God in great danger! Mordecai heard of this plan and went to ask Esther for her help. Esther went to the King and asked him that the lives of the Israelites could be spared. The plan that Haman had to kill the Israelites was revealed and the King ordered for a new law to be made that would keep her people safe.
God used Esther as Queen to save His people! He had planned for her to be Queen because He knew that she would be brave, speak up for His people and to change the things around her. God had a plan for Esther; He used her in a powerful way!
God has an awesome plan for you too! This plan is far bigger and better than anything that you could ever imagine! How awesome is that?
God used Esther’s gifts and talents in order to fulfill His plan and to make a difference. He used her confidence and boldness in order to influence the King. In the same way that God had a plan and used Esther, he can use you too!
Ask:
What God-given gifts have you got?
What plans and purposes do you think that God has for your life?
Pray:
Dear God, thank you for the plan and the purpose that you have for my life. Thank you that you give me boldness and confidence to change the things around me. Thank you that you give me gifts and talents that I can use to fulfill your plan. Amen.

About this Plan
We are called to live a life that reflects Jesus and affects those around us. Our prayers, the way we look after other people and how we respond in tough times have the power to create waves in the world around us. In this devotional, for kids aged 4-11 years, we will be looking at Wavemakers in the Bible and how we too can create waves!
