Elite Athletes Encounter God

DAY 25 OF 31

Strong & Courageous

Fränzi Mägert-Kohli (Switzerland)
Snowboard World Champion (Gold & Bronze) and 12x World Cup Podium

My favorite Bible verse is, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9)

This Bible verse encourages me on my journey and gives me a lot of strength. Life as an elite athlete can be quite challenging. It requires me to stay grounded, and this is something I can do with God. God doesn’t just state a few nice words in this verse - it is a command. But a loving command that applies to everyone. Therefore I don’t have to be afraid. Instead, I take on every day with courage knowing that the highest himself stands behind me.

To believe in Jesus is very natural for me and is part of my life. Once you experience the presence of Jesus you know you have found the truth.

I want to mention that I need God’s grace to stand before Him. It’s not the good results and the big words that keep me righteous. It’s His grace alone. An incredible gift that I highly recommend to everyone. I don’t lose anything when I entrust my life to Him. I only gain!

Action Step

God also wants to encounter YOU. Invite the Holy Spirit to read the bible passage with you and expect that he will speak to you. Trust that God will show you the steps you should take in your own life. Ask Him for strength and courage to follow his voice.
