Ruth 3:1, 5, 18
“…‘My daughter, should I not try to find a home [find rest] for you, where you will be well provided for?’...‘I will do whatever you say,’ Ruth answered…‘Wait my daughter, until you find out what happens. For the man will not rest until the matter is settled today.’”
The path to rest, deep inner peace and rest for our soul, is found in Jesus. He is our kinsman redeemer. Naomi’s counsel to Ruth was specific in approaching Boaz. Ruth submitted to Naomi’s counsel and then waited on God for his salvation. Jesus is our kinsman redeemer, who purchased our freedom, our very lives, with his shed blood. He is our provider, our bridegroom and our protector. All we need, he will provide.
Why do we try to find rest in our own ways and wisdom?
Why are we impatient with God’s timing and provision?
Today is the day of salvation. Now is the time for our redemption.
Lord Jesus, you have paid the price to set me free and give me rest. Thank you for redeeming my life from the curse of sin and death and inviting me into your family.
