Servants of Christ
Galatians 1:10
“Am I now trying to win the approval of men, or of God? Or am I trying to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ.”
We cannot be both man pleasers and God pleasers. When Jesus calls us to be his servants we relinquish other loyalties and place him first. The price of that commitment comes when we are misunderstood or criticized for our practices or beliefs by men and we must choose where our primary loyalty lies, as servants are always available to their master’s will. To please Jesus, we must seek his face and spend time with him. He is our leader, our master and our first love. We cannot serve two masters.
Jesus you are my first love and my master. I choose to listen and obey you today, for your glory.
