Praying God’s Promises
Daniel 9:2, 3
“I, Daniel, understood from the Scriptures, according to the word of the Lord given to Jeremiah the prophet, that the desolation of Jerusalem would last seventy years. So I turned to the Lord God and pleaded with him in prayer and petition, in fasting, and in sackcloth and ashes.”
The Word of God so gripped Daniel’s heart and mind that he stopped all that he was doing to engage God in prayer, petition, fasting and repentance. Daniel understood that God’s Word was backed up by God’s authority. However, rather than be complacent regarding God’s promises, Daniel used God’s Word as a guide in prayer and intercession. He reminded God of his promises and principles. Daniel was appealing to the ultimate authority in the universe, and we have the same privilege through Jesus Christ. This intercession is still the key to restoration and revival in our generation.
Father God, I too humble myself before you and pray that your promises for the gospel to reach every language/tongue be fulfilled in my day.
