Listening To The Word - 1 YearSample
The Word of God – Alive in Us
1 John 2:13-14
“I write to you, young men, because you have overcome the evil one…I write to you young men, because you are strong, and the Word of God lives in you, and you have overcome the evil one.”
Just as Jesus overcame the devil in the wilderness by quoting the truths of God’s Word from Deuteronomy, so also we are called to overcome temptation and discouragement today with God’s Word. When God’s Word lives in us, it is expressed in how we think, speak and act. Overcoming becomes a daily walk rather than a dramatic confrontation. The little choices of how we begin our day, what we fill our minds with and what centers our choices and values, all contribute to how we respond when faced with more significant tests.
Is the Word of God alive in us?
How can we grow in that experience?
Lord Jesus, you are the Word. Fill my thoughts and meditations this day with your truth and life, so that I may overcome this day for your glory.
