Quieted by God’s Love
Zephaniah 3:12, 17
“But I will leave within you the meek and humble who trust in the name of the Lord…The Lord your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing.”
The tenderness and love of the Lord toward those who humble themselves before Him, is contrasted by His wrath against sin and pride. We cannot save ourselves from sin and pride; however, God is mighty to save. Our only hope is to fall on our knees and humble ourselves before God. The surrender of our wills and our lives to God is the only acceptable response to our Creator God. He takes great delight in us and even sings over us. To wake up each morning with a song in our hearts is a great gift, as we respond through the day to our God of love.
Lord Jesus, thank you for saving me and introducing me to the love of the Father.
