Running From The HeartSample

Travel Light 

Let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. (Hebrews 12:1)

“This is our time to show the world who Jesus Christ is, to be His hands and feet, to shine light and bring hope and healing to the world... Running a great race-finish with great faith!

You’re here to be light, bringing out the God colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept.

It should be a natural outflowing of our walk/relationship with God. Travel light to be a traveling light.”

Rebecca learned how to throw off everything that might hinder people from seeing the light of Jesus in her life. 

“In this season God has been teaching me to: 

• Leave behind fear and have a fresh perspective of God’s love for me; 

• Give Him my worries and to trust Him with all my heart; 

• Throw off discouragement and persevere in the race God has set for me; 

• Take every impure thought captive, live a pure life set apart for God – Jesus is coming for a spotless bride; 

• Guard against prideful thoughts that can creep in, I ask God to keep me humble each day; and forgive as Jesus has forgiven me.”

You are the light of the world… Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in Heaven. (Matthew 5:14,16) 

Watch out for the light-dimming, love-quenching thoughts and actions that weigh you down and prevent you from shining brightly for the glory of God. Throw off the hindrances and the sins that can so easily entangle and distract you from God’s plan for your life. 

Think of your life as a journey to Heaven – what are you carrying that is weighing you down?

Prayer: 

Dear Heavenly Father, please help me to travel light by throwing off the things that quench your love and dim your light within me. Father, please help me to share your love and light with those who are in darkness and in need. Amen.
