The Just Shall Live By FaithSample

The Just Shall Live By Faith

DAY 2 OF 3

Man Shall Not Live By Bread Alone.

“But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.” Matthew‬ ‭4:4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

According to Strong’s Concordance, the Greek word for “word” in this verse is, ‘rhema’ (G4487) which means, “That which is or has been uttered by the living voice, thing spoken, word.” Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every thing that is spoken from the mouth of God. Dead things do not talk. False gods do not speak. Idols don’t speak. We serve a Living God who speaks.

Rhema means, “That which is or has been uttered by the living voice.” Our God lives — Jesus is alive. God’s Word is alive. His instruction is alive. We live by every living Word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. Yield to His Word.

Matthew‬ ‭4:4‬ ‭AMPC declares, “But He replied, It has been written, Man shall not live and be upheld and sustained by bread alone, but by every word that comes forth from the mouth of God. [Deut. 8:3.]” ‭‭‬‬When the enemy speaks fear — choose to speak faith. When the enemy tries to tempt you — choose to speak the Word of God. When the enemy tries to derail your focus — choose to repeat and declare the Word of God.

Choose to live by, and be upheld by every Word that proceeds, and continues to proceed, out of the mouth of God — His Word is alive. “For the Word that God speaks is alive and full of power [making it active, operative, energizing, and effective]; it is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating to the dividing line of the breath of life (soul) and [the immortal] spirit, and of joints and marrow [of the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and sifting and analyzing and judging the very thoughts and purposes of the heart.” ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭4:12‬ ‭AMPC‬‬.

Choose to let the Living Word shift and sift your life and heart. When the enemy attacks, choose to let His Word proceed out of your mouth. “Jesus answered by quoting Deuteronomy: “It takes more than bread to stay alive. It takes a steady stream of words from God’s mouth.”” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭4:4‬ ‭MSG‬‬
