Resilience Practice: Worship
Praise the Lord for the splendour of His holiness and that His love endures for ever.
Under attack from a vast army, Jehoshaphat prays ‘We do not know what to do, but our eyes are upon You’. Under immense pressure he chooses his focus – God. He is instructed to worship and obeys.
Praise may not seem the most obvious strategy in times of pressure or attack, but then God’s ways are higher than our ways.
As we worship, He fights for us.

About this Plan

Whether confronted with difficult life events or extended periods of pressure, resilience helps us to emerge stronger, wiser, and with a deeper faith. Yet such resilience is not automatic – it involves behaviours, thoughts, and actions that are learned and practised over time. This 40-day prayer journey helps us develop practices to grow that resilience.
