Growing In Resilience: A Prayer JourneySample
Spiritual Attack
‘Lord, I ask for the discernment to recognise the enemy’s fingerprints in my life and work. May I guard my heart’.
The enemy’s job description is to rob, kill, and destroy. John Eldredge points out that ‘if he can deaden or disable your heart, then he has effectively foiled the plan of God, which was to create a world where love reigns. By taking out your heart, the enemy takes out you, and you are essential to the story’.

About this Plan
Whether confronted with difficult life events or extended periods of pressure, resilience helps us to emerge stronger, wiser, and with a deeper faith. Yet such resilience is not automatic – it involves behaviours, thoughts, and actions that are learned and practised over time. This 40-day prayer journey helps us develop practices to grow that resilience.
