Fear can be an avenue to learn something new about God.

How is it even possible that though Jesus was in the boat, the disciples were still fearful of the situation around them? I’m persuaded it is because they had not yet experienced Jesus as commander of the seas.

They learned something new about Jesus only after He had calmed the storm. They were so amazed and I believe they were encouraged through this encounter.

When fear presents itself through anxiety or depression, this is an opportunity for God to present Himself as the Prince of Peace and Healer. I know in my journey, this was true. I also sought the help of a counsellor. I was able to gain clarity as I walked through previous situations. As discussed in day 2 and 4, it is often beneficial to identify the root cause of fear and bring it to the table.

It’s possible that the very situation you’re experiencing is merely a way for your relationship with Christ to be further solidified.

Write down 3 situations where you have encountered fear. For each situation, consider what new characteristic you discovered about Jesus.
