A Sustainable LifeSample
The Well of Love
What is it about love that we find so compelling? If it weren’t for the endless fascination and enchantment of love stories, Hollywood would be a much smaller place. But humans it seems can’t get enough of it.
Even in our post-enlightened modern world with all its technological innovation and scientific explanations, love is still as powerful a mystery as it ever was.
As Christians, we have an understanding as to why love is so important to humans. It is because God is love.
God isn’t a hypothesis to be considered, or a force to understand. He is a person who loves. And we are created to love Him. And it is because He loves us, that we now love others in the same way.
The well of love really is the most important. To love God and love others is, according to Jesus, the greatest commandment. And these are more than just words. Jesus’ love followed through with action by giving His life on the cross for us.
In light of the ultimate display of love, digging this well in our hearts is about keeping love at the centre of all that we do. It’s about making sure that we are moved and motivated by love.
To paraphrase 1 Corinthains 13:3, love is what makes a symphony out of our sacrifice. Without love, it is simply noise.
