Love God Greatly: EstherSample
What does Esther do in preparation before risking her life by unlawfully entering the king's presence? A wise woman knows that she can't possibly attempt such a daunting task in her own strength. Esther requests fasting and prayer, and she spends time doing the same.
Prayer is an opportunity to present our requests to God, but also shows a needed posture in us: one of humility, submission, and acknowledgment of God and His power. C.S. Lewis described this concept well when he said, "I pray because the need flows out of me all the time, waking and sleeping. It doesn't change God; it changes me."
Dear God, I want to be a woman of prayer. When troubles come, let first response is always going to You. Help me to seek Your kingdom first. Like Esther, help me to do Your will in Your strength, not mine. Amen.

About this Plan
Esther is an incredible story that reminds us God is always working. From this story, we learn there is no such thing as "coincidence." Though God may seem distant, even absent at times, He is present. God is always with us and at work in our lives, just like He was in Esther's so many years ago.
