DAY 47 OF 116

EZEKIEL 21:
Yesterday we saw that the Lord was quite offended when unrighteous leaders of Israel came to ask Ezekiel for a message from the Lord! And Ezekiel begged to not have to give a highly figurative message because the people complained that he was always speaking in riddles.

ISAIAH 5:
Yesterday there was a temporary break in the clouds in Isaiah, and we heard the first hint about the Righteous Branch who was prophesied to come.

HEBREWS 2:
Yesterday we heard the amazing prologue in the first chapter of Hebrews. Angels are nowhere approaching the majesty of Jesus. And Jesus was given many glorious promises.

Let’s pray.
Our Savior and Lord, Christ Jesus, we may not be able to physically bow down before You right now like the angels do, but we desire to worship You with all the same reverence. Through You, God created the universe, and You will possess all things at the end. It is You who even now still sustain the universe with your powerful word. We bow before You who bear the exact likeness of our Father God’s own being. So, dear Lord, I want to take this opportunity to pray for all the Muslim people who refuse to acknowledge You as God’s Son. They bone-headedly insist that such a term can only mean a biological relationship between God the Father and Mary. The willfully close their eyes to the fact that the Bible doesn’t say that. Instead, Lord Jesus, your sonship is based on God’s declaration, “You are my Son, today I have become your Father.” This declaration was made long before your birth. The angels were commanded to bow and worship You, so of course humans should do the same. And this passage quotes a Psalm that speaks of You, God’s Son, saying, “Your kingdom, O God, will last forever.” So we also pray for people following cults like the Jehovah’s Witnesses and Mormons. We pray that You would open their eyes to your exalted place as co-equal with God, and One to whom every knee will one day bow when even your enemies will confess that You are Lord.
